Inflammation can be a Healing Response or Lead to Disease

Researchers found that in the absence of a key circadian clock component called cryptochrome (CRY), the signaling system that elevates levels of inflammatory molecules in the body is activated. They found compelling evidence to show that ongoing, low-grade inflammation could be the underlying cause of many diseases, including diabetes, obesity and cancer, all of which are at epidemic levels in the United States.

You can read more about that study here.

Inflammation is a normal, pro-healing response in the body, if it is short-term (acute). However, when the inflammation becomes chronic or systemic, it leads to disease. In addition to a lack of cryptochrome, as mentioned above, there are many things that cause inflammation in the body.

There is a very comprehensive article on Peertrainer which explains inflammation in great detail, including its chemistry, many of its causes and ways to reduce or eliminate it.

In addition to the many recommendations offered on Peertrainer on how to reduce or eliminate inflammation, Infratonic Therapy is incredibly helpful with that issue. John Schaeffer, a former professional kick-boxer and five-time world championship powerlifter, is now a renowned fitness trainer, working with many professional and Olympic athletes. John is an avid fan of Infratonic Therapy, using it in his training regimen to help his athletes recover faster from their intense training and injuries, giving them a great advantage over their competition. Watch for our Summer newsletter, to be mailed in August, for an interview we conducted with John to learn more about some of his many positive outcomes with Infratonic Therapy.
